Comments: It has been a very long time since I read anything that had 'romance' written on the spine but this 'paranormal romance' may just become a new obsession! I enjoyed this immensely. It was a couldn't-put-it-down read. This vampire hunter novel has a definite Buffy feel to it, yet Gleason has very much made it her own. Victoria is a spunky, strong, sexy Venator (vampire hunter) who I can't wait to read more about. I really enjoyed the historical Regency setting and the ending was amazing. I read the book with enjoyment from start to finish but as I was reading I felt I knew where it was going and how it would end. Boy, was I wrong! I'm looking forward to the next book to see how things continue from here.

  1. Yay! So glad you enjoyed it Nicola! Wasn't it great? Rises the Night is even better...Much darker and extremely suspenseful. I can't wait for the next book in the series. It's supposed to come out in February!

  3. You definitely need to pick up Rises the Night. I enjoyed the first book, but she really kicks things up a notch with her writing in Rises, in my opinion. It really hits the ground running and I was thrilled with it...with both of them really, especially as this isn't a genre of fiction I normally read either. I am anxiously looking forward to reading book three.

  7. Isn't Colleen's writing wonderful? I'm not a typical vampire reader, but I have to admit that The Rest Falls Away and Rises the Night completely swept me away.
